I would say lack of funding would be the number one reason that Preschools are not offered in all public schools. I feel that Preschool should be offered free of costs to any child born in the U.S. In Florida, Preschool is offered at no charge for any child that is 4 years old. If Florida can do it, all states should.
I do agree with all that you have said. The problem I think is that they view Preschool as a "babysitting" job and not a mode of education and learning. It's a very sad situation.
I agree that lack of funding is the main reason that Pre-K is not offered in all public schools, and it's really a shame because it's a great program. Due to the lack of funding, we have to select who attends based on screenings, but a lot of children fall thru the gaps. All children should have the option to attend, it gives them a great start in education.
I do not know the reason to why preschools aren't in all public schools, but pre-k is just as important as public schools. What's really disappointing is the salary they pay over qualified teachers. Working in early childhood, the average teacher with a 4 year degree makes about $10.00 an hour. I think they should make a way that taxes cover the cost of pre-k and early childhood. Oh yeah! What about the NC lottery that people put thousands of dollars into every day, I thought that was suppose the cover our education?
Goog point what about that lottery!!! Preschool gets no respect! I have friends who are More at for Teachers who do not work for the school sysytem. Their salary, oh excuse me their hourly pay is disturbing! To make matters worse they are graduating to receive their Master's and their director is telling them that she can't increase their pay!!

DeleteIt gives them a great start because Preschool is the foundation of learning/education. Hopefully soon they will get the idea!
